OJ, yer gonna hafta trust me on that one. There is NO such force in nature called "centrifugal".

Doubt that? Swing a tennis ball on a string over your head and let it go. Does it go straight away from the center of rotation? No, it does not. It travels in a straight line tangential to the edge of the circle.

I am sorry. I did use the word "centripetal" incorrectly (it is a fictitious force) and don't have the time to look up (from long ago) the actual term. But guaranteed, there is no such force as "centrifugal", and Professor Erwin Cory should have known that.

But then, on his website, he brags he taught circuit design to non-engineering students for a living.

"Snake Grease"?

Post by Ralph H »

Hello CE'OJ
I'm about to service my seacocks and noticed your latest post. I know it may be a bit tangential to the thread, but I was wondering if your snake oil line includes a marine grease? I have been using Prof. Irwin Morey's Red but I've recently become concerned about it's reputation. Can you help??

thanks,
Ralph

Morey's Red

Post by Oswego John »

Hi Ralph,

I've been using Corey's Red since Hector was a pup. I've had not just good results, but GREAT results with it.

However, I hesitate to praise it publicly because lately a certain faction of readers on the CD board respond to my thoughts with negativel ripostes.

For me to offer my personal assessment of Morey's might bring down the black gypsy curse upon it. You have to realize that many CD sailors are heavy in Morey's stock and I just don't want to be blamed on the sudden drop of sales and the subsequent reduction of earnings that many of (us) ahem, them rely on.

I'm sorry , Ralph, but at this time my lips are sealed.

I am proud to say that Acme's R & D department is going green, literally as well as figurativly. We are making great strides in developing a new lube product using owl waste as its secret ingredient. It is noted to be extremely slick. Early claims report that it will also be great as an hors d'oeuvre spread. We are eagerly awaiting a response from the Pure Food and Drug Admistration for the green light on production.

Thanks for your interest.

Best regards,

Thanks for your kind reply. I understand your reluctance to take a stand on Moreys Red under the circumstances ... hopefully your muted endorsement won't bring down a strike from the stepped leader of that "certain faction"! Meanwhile, I'll be checking back for news on the release of Acme's Owl Poo Lube for domestic Marine and Catering markets.
Best regards,
Ralph
