This is not my boat, nor am I connected to it in anyway. I just happened across the ad today.

I know this boat
I live in Jax and sail at Mandarin often & my good friend has his 30' S.2 just down the dock from this boat. There are actually two CD30 cutters on the dock. One sold just recently for around $10K (this one might be the same). Other one is also for sale I think. Both needed a lot of brightwork & probably new paint all over; the prior owner of the former said his might need to have the lower shroud chainplates replaced ("L-shaped" steel bars embedded in glass and behind the hull liner).
If interested, I can ask around down there and check it out more.

Saw the CD30 today
I went to the marina and saw the boat today. The other one on the dock, the one that recently sold for about $12K, is in far better shape. This boat has a ton of cracks in the topsides through which water has saturated the core and even has a 2" hole in the top over the head. I noticed some soft spots near the starboard side shrouds (I didn't go aboard). It would take someone to cut out the top, remove the damaged balsa core, and reglass it (in many places). It also needs a new alternator. It has the original sails and the genoa is so far gone that it can't be used. The others are patched and stained. The sail covers are intact but have seen far better days. The bowsprit is cracked and should be replaced as well. Standing rigging is original except for the bobstay which is newer.
The owner (with whom I spoke on the phone) seems to be a very nice man. I think it'd be a great project boat as she is still quite seaworthy and the old Volvo still runs. And she's a CD30 cutter rig at $8K!
