Interesting CD28 For Sale - Maine

Just noticed this on Maine Craigslist. If I were in the market for a CD28, I'd be checking it out.

Looks like a good deal on a nice boat but I wonder whether it is really a 1979 as advertised. My boat was one of the first 1979 model year boats, built in September 1978, and it has the bridge deck and the updated cabin layout while the boat in those photos has neither.

Good question. An astute CD28 owner would certainly recognize the differences. Penobscot, Maine is up there, even for a Midcoast Mainer like myself. What caught my eye was the new fully battened mainsail, rebuilt volvo diesel, the survey, the price, and the detailed description which, for me, conveyed a sense of passion for both the CD28 and sailing.

That being said, I would want better and more detailed photos. To your point, I'd likely request the hull number to confirm year of mfg. I blasted off a quick email to the seller referencing this sight and have not heard back or seen efforts beyond Craigslist, which as we all know can sometimes be a blackhole of foolishness and fraud.

I saw this boat on Sailing Texas where it is listed as a 1977 CD 28. Apparently well taken care of by second owners.
