The mainsail for my '74 Typhoon is shot. Any thoughts on the availability of "used" Typhoon mainsails or a sailmaker that can make a new one to the Typhoon specs.

most sailmakers have a computer database with all the specs. pick a maker from good references and get everything built in you need such as reef points, reef tack and clew, tell tales, etc.

Check out Clarke Bassett of Kappa Sails in Westbrook, CT (kappasails.com)..He made a new suit of sails for our Ty and did a very good job..He has done several other Tys as well..He is reasonably priced and locally considered one of the better sailmakers for the money..Good luck

Try Bacon's in Annapolis. They had many used and new mains for less than new.Greg Hickey wrote: The mainsail for my '74 Typhoon is shot. Any thoughts on the availability of "used" Typhoon mainsails or a sailmaker that can make a new one to the Typhoon specs.

I just bought a new mainsail for my Weekender by North Sails from Cruising Direct in Portsmouth RI for $425.00. Great service - great price - best I could find after lots of research. Check our their web site at cruisingdirect.com. Good luck!
