Wanted: Jib or Genoa for a CD25 with a Wire Luff

Post by sealark »

I am looking for a jib or genoa that will fit a CD25 that has a wire installed in the Luff. I guess these were typical type sails for the older Schaefer Free Furl Systems.

I currently have no furling system installed on my boat - and a friend gave me one of these older Schaefer Systems. I have everything but the sail. I know these are not the most desirable system as far as performance - but I sail with my kids (ages 5 and 6) and anything that would make it easier would help. At some point in the future - I want to get a brand new roller furling setup - but I can't afford that right now.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Kevin

wire luff

they used to sew in a 1x19 wire luff for those older systems, bad thing was, you could never get them tight enough, even with a winch. If you currently have hank on sails you can put a headsail downhaul system to douse that headsail from the cockpit in a hurry. If you need to know how to do it let me know and I'll lead you through it. regards, Randy
