We are just getting moved into our 1982 CD25D (#045) and have discovered that the old 2-burner pressurized Kenyon alcohol stove is apparently in need of some refurbishing.
When we try to fill the tank (up to 3/4 full, as directed) a large amount of alcohol immediately drains into the left burner well.
Any comments on replacing the entire unit with the non-pressurized Origo 2-burner, drop in cooktop, as opposed to having the Kenyon fixed up (which for peace of mind we would have done by the boatyard or someone familiar with the Kenyon stoves)?
Thanks.

Replacing OEM Kenyon Stove on a CD25D
Moderator: Jim Walsh
Very simple job.
Mike:
I replaced my pressurized Kenyon with the two-burner Origo. It drops right in the same hole as the Kenyon, except that the rounded corners need to be squared off a bit with a jigsaw or a handsaw to accommodate the rectangular shape of the Origo.

Re: Replacing OEM Kenyon Stove on a CD25D
I just put in an Origo 2 burner non-presurized stove this year. I agonized over all types of stoves and didn't want to use propane.Mike Nesja wrote: Mike,
Well the short of it is that the non-pressurized Origo works GREAT.
It heats fast and has good temp control.
You'll love it.
Happy meals.
