Drive/Walk Time
Barf,
12 minute drive to Oswego Town Marina.
38 minute drive to schooner Ontario in dry dock in Sodus, NY
42 second walk to my baby resting in my yard undergoing rehab.
6 hour drive to a secret place in New England where another gem is begging to change ownership.
28 minutes to the medical center where I plan to have my head examined for wanting to own another boat. (I need another boat to occupy my spare time like I need root canal). Sheesh.
O J
N B: But she's in beautiful shape with an irrestible asking price. Oy Vey, decisions, decisions.

Offer to help OJ.....
My Typhoon is a 5-min walk to where she sits on her trailer. When launched, I have a 5-min drive to my dinghy and a short putt-putt to the pretty little yacht.
OJ, where in New England can I see your possible new project? If she's a CD-22, then you'd better not tell me as I'll buy her first!
Yuk, yuk and Happy Halloweeny to all you costumed little devils.

Drive time is a real crap shoot. Since my marina is on an island and the only access from land is off the I-5 N. B. at the entrance to the interstate bridge into Washington State.
Timing is everything, I am guilty of making the transit of 16 miles listening to a certain Jimi Hendrix tune with no fear of wearing one of those orange jump suits (or giving my 964 to the state) some folks wear cleaning up the debris along our roads, no traffic to speak of in about 10 minutes.
The flip side 45 minutes to an hour 1st. gear all the way, the bridge does lift for commercial traffic.
I've only done the 10 minute transit once, that was enough.
Average time 20 minutes.

Drive Time
It's not so much the drive time for me...which is about 1:10 at best. But more so just having the time. With two young children trying their talents in soccer, swimming, scouts, etc, our ventures to the boat are not as much as I'd like them to be. We did spend some memorable weekends this summer, the best being several days to St. Michaels. There's always next summer!

Three Hours
Bill,
Parfait is 3 hours away. That is far from optimum, but close enough for a weekend escape now and then. I usually try to stretch the weekend to Friday through Monday. Yes, I am retired, but have a 24x7 job.
Keep on sailing,
Ken

was 2 hours now <30 minutes
It was 2 hours when we lived in NH to either Mattapoisett or Falmouth, ME. That gets old pretty quick.
Now, we are less than 30 minutes (20 on a really good day) and
we'd love to be closer but it's not bad!

13.6 miles, 200 ft offshore 30 mins with traffic
13.6 miles from my home driveway to cottage driveway,
50 ft more for dinghy oars, lifejacket and cooler
boat is moored 200 ft offshore
30 mins with traffic and no talking to the neighbors
The real question is why aren't I on my boat more?

We have about 1.5 hours to the dock,
