Typhoon Trailer

Post by markgrark »

After searching diligently for a few months I have come to the conclusion that if I want a trailer for my typhoon that I need to create one. I plan to buy a regular boat trailer and install jack stands at the appropriate locations to accommodate the typhoon. The boat is located in York Harbor Maine. Is there anyone nearby with a typhoon trailer that I could stop by and measure? Any help would be appreciated!

Check out NE Sailboat Rescue in Freeport. He'll sell you a trailer too, if you haven't already got one.

I bought a trailer from NE Sailboat Rescue and modified it for four screw jacks. Michael is very easy to deal with and sells new trailers also.

If you would like to see mine, then drop me an email or PM and I'll give you my phone number and we can schedule a meeting view my trailer. She sits near my home in Old Orchard Beach, ME

Ron, how much did that trailer set you back? (If you don't mind me asking that is.)

Best Guess

Mike, I did not save the paperwork, but I think it cost $1100 and then I purchased four jack stand heads for $60. I attached four pieces of black pipe and inserted the jack stand heads. This works good for the short (less than 5miles) hauls I do in the spring and fall.

Tyhoon trailer for sale

Post by rontrivane »

I just sold my Cape Dory Typhoon and the new owner did not need the trailer. I am selling the galvanized trailer for $1,200. it is 1978 vintage and is in good condition. There is no title. A DMV can issue a title. It is in good drive a way condition. I recommend getting new tires. I bought the trailer with the boat last year and have no record of when the wheels were last serviced. The trailer is in Annapolis MD. I am eager to sell and would entertain reasonable offers. Call me if you like 410-693-1929
