I'm looking for dark tinted Lexan sheet 1/4" or 3/8" to rebuild the forward hatch on my 25. Home Depot doesn't have it. Are there any sources out there?

Thanks,
Jon

Just saw this in "Soundings" - Apparent source for lexan and Starboard, "custom cut to your specs for windshields, hatches . . . " Name of vendor appears to be "Custom Sizes Oriental", tel. no. 252-249-1762, custsize@pamlico.net. If you use them and like them, drop a line, I was thinking of doing the same thing. How thick do you think? Best regards. John, s/v "Star", formerly "Tenshi", formerly "Three Sheets".

Okay, okay, so you actually indicated the thickness! I knew these bifocals were no good! Happy Sailing!

I have just ordered tinted 1/4" lexan from my local glass dealer. The details for my CD30 hatch include:
- cost is per square foot.
- it takes a 2' x 2' piece.
- I took my screen hatch as a sample. They are cutting it out to match.
- The total cost with tax is $42.50.
- We examined both grey and bronze tint. The store wisely had installed each tint in an outside door so that we could easily compare. We went in leaning toward bronze, however, upon examining the two, we liked the grey better because the light was brighter (our rationale is that mostly we will only be using it on cloudy days when we are inside the boat.
- the local dealer is Gause Glass in Jacksonville, NC (but most glass shops should be able to do this.
