It looks like an Alberg hull but what else could she actually be? Maybe a Kittywake or Sea Sprite?
Obviously not mine but just another nice hull needing knowledge of the group for ID during a chilly day in Maine.

Not a Sea Sprite
I'll play...
Cabin top is too large for a SS23 even with modified portlights.
**THIS IS A PICTURE OF MY SEA SPRITE 23** NOT THE BOAT IN QUESTION. Scroll down some to see the pictures of the bigger RED boat.

Sea Sprite 27, maybe
The photos in the ad are a bit odd. It seems almost as if they were manipulated, eg there is a big dark grey square on the stbd one, and the ports seem different port and stbd.
But, I'll go out on a limb and say it reminds me of a Sea Sprite 27.

Hmmmmm.....
Well, she has a very strange looking rudder and the portals are not stock for a Cape Dory nor a SeaSprite 27. The inboard diesel must have died and thus the outboard power.
I have dropped the seller an email to see if he can supply the hull ID#s, that'll close the discussion.
Stay tuned.......

The ad says it's a Cape Dory but it isn't a Cape Dory that I've ever seen. It has the old half-moon rudder found only on the very early Typhoons. All other Cape Dory's have trapazoidal rudders. It's dog house is too long for any of the Typhoons except for the Ty Senior, but again, the rudder is wrong. And all the portlights are wrong for a Cape Dory.
The ad also states that it's a Cape Dory 27. The CD27 has an inboard diesel and this boat has an outboard. The freeboard is also too low for a CD27, especially at the stern.
If it is a Cape Dory, is has gone through some major modifications.

Sailmaster?
I had a boat very similar to this one, hullwise and doghousewise. It was called a Sailmaster. It was not an Alberg design but a Sparkman and Stephen's design imported from Holland. Mine was a full keel/centerboard, and sailed very much like an alberg.
Owner's Response
Well, I called the seller and he says that the previous owner told him it was a CD-27 and he did not challenge. I did challenge and he said others had also questioned the boat's lineage but he could not prove it is a CD. There are no boat ID numbers as they were painted over.
Said he'd sailed it only once, in Boston harbor and that it has mainsail, jib and genoa. Head has been removed and so has the diesel. He will attempt to email more photos but could not get any interior shots....."too small for my camera".
Hmmmmm, it has a funny history and all I can say is that it does "appear" to be an Alberg design.
Stay tuned and I'll report more.

It's definitely not a Triton. The Pearson Triton has a stepped coach roof and the boat pictured on Craigslist in Ron's posting (I've included the link below) does not have a stepped coach roof.

See the lines/sail plan for the Sailmaster 22 here:

The dog house isn't long enough and the port configuration is wrong. But I think our guesses are getting closer. Once again, here's the link that Ron provided to the mystery boat on Craigslist.

Here's a view of the CD27. Note the sheerline, the portlight configuration, the freeboard at the stern, no bowsprit, and the shape of the rudder. No CD27 ever had a half-moon rudder (unless it was rebuilt). And they didn't have bow sprits either.

Here's the boat that we're trying to identify. Note the sheerline, the portlight configuration, the freeboard at the stern, the small bow sprit, and the shape of the rudder.

Nice find Markst95
I agree with you that they appear to be stablemates. I googled Bristol 27 and found a wealth of knowledgable sailors who are high on their Alberg designed boats. I saw a 19.5ft Bristol that looked very much like our favorite Typhoon.
I am still waiting for more info/photos from the seller and will inform him about your discovery. Then he may be able to advertise it as another Carl Alberg boat.
Thanks to all and it is fun guessing models of what we see on the water.
