Here are some photos of our CD 27 North Star. We first looked at her in October 2009.

By the time we could schedule a sea trial, get a survey, and buy her, it was December. We spent the winter refinishing the tiller and dropboards and researching supplies and maintenance procedures. When the snow melted, we got to work with a thorough cleaning, polishing the topsides, repainting the boottop and bottom, oiling the interior teak, engine maintenance, renaming, and many other projects. We launched on May 14th and did an overnight shakedown cruise on the Choptank. After a few more maintenance weekends, I spent three days single-handing her home to Onancock, spending the night at Solomon's Island and Smith Island. We had a nice four-day cruise to the Rappahannock in July, staying at Windmill Point and Urbanna. The boat sails great and we are very happy with her.
Thanks to you all for the help with answering questions. Special thanks to John Vigor, who provided information and answered questions about the CD 27. This board is invaluable and is one of the reasons we decided to buy a Cape Dory.
