after getting tired of rigging and unrigging jack lines, last summer i installed padeyes on the fwd and aft corners of the cabin top. i then made up semi-permament jacklines from 3/16 ss. i leave these rigged all the time so it's easy to harness up and go sailing. it's a great solution because the jacklines are very close to the center line rather than outboard of the cabin top.
i strongly recommend this mod.
Scary night

Saturday Afternoon
I was sitting at anchor watching a thunderstorm build and approach. Imagine my surprise when I noticed a cool looking little could (and so acknowledged) and then, "HOLY CRAP THATS A FREAKIN FUNNEL" (expletives edited), and then watched it drop and raise twice in about three or four minutes.
I have seen many a funnel in my 58 years and this one had two particular points of interest. First, it was heading right at us and second, we were at anchor! Never seen one on a boat before.
