CD28 #53 - New Portlights!!

Post by BubbaThePirate »

I've replaced 6 of 8 of my portlights with Tri Matrix ports from New Found Metals. These six were all 5x12. The two most aft ports are 8x18 or something. I can't find a good direct replacement. I'll probably use the 7x12 Tri Matrix ports.

Check them out at:

I replaced all of mine, the 6 small and the 2 large, with bronze New Found Metal ports. It was quite a job. There was only loose plywood fillers between the cabin and the liner. I glassed them in to provide a solid foundation for the ports and their bolts. Glad it is done.

Sorry for the insanely late reply, but that is my life these days.

I removed the same wood spacers and replaced with epoxy filler all around. It was an interesting job pushing epoxy with a putty knife, especially "up," but I think it created a very solid foundation. Incidentally, I was able to check as I drilled holes that the epoxy was well past each bolt hole.
