Re: Downwind sail for a singlehanded Typhoon
Mike,
Our Typhoon came with a spinnaker and I just set it as a cruising spinnaker. Tie a sail tie around the forestay and tack of sail. Hook and run a downhaul from the tack through the bow chock and aft to the cockpit. Run a sheet from the clew to the aft spinnaker blocks or just the genoa blocks set aft. Hoist and go. Ease the downhaul for a fuller sail on runs and haul it and the sheet to go up to just off a beam reach. Not as simple as poling out the genny but it Works for me.
