throttle cable

Post by Brian Hickson »

Does anyone know how to adjust the throttle cable on the Yanmar 1GM engine. The operating manual mentions a cable adjusting screw, but I don't see anything resembling that. I can only get about 2600 rpms out of the design 3600. The problem is definitely with the cable. I have the original Morse cable.

Thanks, Brian

Is that a type 33 cable? If so you should see a small locking hex nut on a threaded stud on the cable end. Just loosen the nut and then make your adjustment on the linkage and retighten the nut. I'm not familiar with that particular Yanmar but the cables are the same.
