Has any replace the water tank on a CD 26 ?
Our 1985 CD 26 has the original water tank and hose. We are thinking of replacing the tank with a flexible water tank. Has anyone done this?

I have not replaced the water tank. But I have sure thought about it. That tank takes up allot of prime storage space.
One caution though! The 26 needs the weight of all that water up in the bow. For several seasons I would empty the Water tank under the "V" berth thinking I was making the boat lighter, and thus faster. What I did discover is that weight up forward helps to balance the boat, especially when working to windward. Now, during the winter, I keep 6 gallons of anti-freeze [the pink stuff] in there.
I wonder though; if I were to switch to a smaller lighter outboard in the stern, if I could compensate by having less water ballast in the forward berth.
