1/4" open turnbuckle for Typhoon

Post by ronkberg »

I have on seized open turnbuckle on my '83 Typhoon and wonder if anyone has one available? The "T" end is bound and is left threaded so may also need to be replaced. It is bronze and the seized piece looks like stainless but might be bronze coated S.S. I have tried many different spray to loosen but to no avail. Wonder if heat might help but reluctant to try as I've been warned not to overheat the bronze.

Anyone have knowledge as to how to release the seized one?

Does anyone have turnbuckle and "T" available for sale? Prefer open design.

Ron,

I've got one you can have. Send me your address by PM and I'll ship it off to you. No payment necessary as I have been the recipient of generosity from other members on this board. The turnbuckle is off my '75 open Ty and was replaced to match all the other closed turnbuckles on her. It's from freshwater.
