CD 25 mainsail tack angle
The tack angle on my CD25 mainsail won't allow my boom to sit at 90 degrees to the mast. It seems around an 80 or 85 degree tack angle. Is this standard for the 25?

Something to check...
I'm sure you checked this but... Are you sure your topping lift is not holding up the boom? Or maybe your mainsail is just cut that way?
Another thing to check is make sure your mast is straight and not raked forward at the top, which would cause the sail to to raise the boom in extreme cases.
In any case, a little more headroom isn't a bad thing. The foot of the mainsail doesn't do much anyways as far as performance.
