One of the side mounted coaming cleats on my newly acquired Typhoon Weekender hit the briny blue somewhere in it's past life and deep sixed. Need leads on where to find replacement cleat. The West Marine and Defender catalogs do not list such an animal. Any suggestions?

Spartan still sells them, in two sizes and two finishes. One may be yours. Their number is 1-800-325-3287.Tom Barringer wrote: One of the side mounted coaming cleats on my newly acquired Typhoon Weekender hit the briny blue somewhere in it's past life and deep sixed. They list a Herrshoff coaming cleat,5' 2 hole, and 6' 3 hole. They are selling for around $18 unpolished ,$40 polished. plus shipping. I recommend that you purchase them polished,a bit more $, but worth it.I went the other way and spent hrs polishing. Best of luck Bob P

Re: Typhoon Weekender Coaming Cleat Replacement Search
Tom,
My Typhoon had also lost it's side-mounted cleats. I made pair of small teak blocks which are attached to the outside of the coming, flush with the top of the coming. A regular open-base cleat is fitted on top.
They cost more than $40 worth of labor, but they give me a certain sense of satisfaction.
