CD25D Table + Leg Wanted

Post by Noel Heslop »

Hi Everyone,

I am wishing to buy a CD25D table and leg if possible? Somehow Breezy did not have one when I bought her 2 years ago. Only an offset hole where the leg goes in the cabin sole.

Your help would be appreciated. Hopefully, you know of, I guess, a damaged, non repairable CD25D in your area.

My back up plan will be to make one, and buy a new leg, but I really would prefer the original, marks and all. However, freight costs to Australia may make the cost prohibitive, but I will cross that hurdle down the track.

From reading other CD discussions, I am still not sure of the correct answer to this one. Is the hole in the cabin sole finished off with a metal or similar liner? Breezy is showing timber. It is as though a protective liner has been removed, along with the table and leg?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Table leg

Post by trapper »

Hi Noel,

I am out of town but can get you pics of Saga's this weekend. Someone else maybe able to help you sooner.

The leg is nothing but a bare piece of pipe. I can only guess at the diameter and length. I think it is probably 3" in diameter and 3 feet long. It does not have any marks. You could go get any 3" metal tube and it would work. Saga's is painted brown.

Saga's hole in the sole is also bare. There is no cap and there is no lining. I thought I might change that when I install a new sole. From what I can gather, Saga's is original. Do you have the table top?

No Table or Leg

Hi Trapper,

Thanks Trapper for your helpful description of the leg.

I do not have either. Your description of the leg and hole is very helpful. I was thinking that the leg had a fitted end, that fitted into a missing plate cover on Breezy.

I just sent another CD25D owner a PM, to hopefully provide me with sizing of table and leg. He has a very nice table, with a neat fitting for use in the cockpit, as well. This was in a previous discussion topic. This offset hole in the sole for the table I had wondered about it's purpose, until John Vigor explained the unique table design of the CD25D. I had no idea.

My back up plan is to make the table, and buy a leg. The leg's I have looked at so far, all have a protruding base plate. Something to damage toes on.

table and leg

One end of the leg fits into a fitting on the bottom side of the table. The other end of the leg fits into the hole in the sole. I have heard about the table that fits into the cockpit but Saga does not have one. Her table is original. I can take pics this weekend.

I did find a pic of the hole in the sole but based upon your post, I think it looks just like yours.

Table

I have installed a fitting into the cockpit sole to mount the stock table. I can also photograph any part you may need to see. I would recommend having a table made locally, the shipping from the US would be prohibitive! I could also furnish table dimensions if needed.
