Nice CD on San Francisco Bay

Beautiful
The backlit photo is superb. I would be nice to get the details on the chainplate modification. Personally I'd drop my main before a third reef was necessary. The sail fabric is just not intended for sustained exposure to the winds in which a third reef would be prudent. Trysails are so rarely seen today, primarily because modern sail fabric is so much superior to cotton.

That's my beautiful 'Anatrina', 1981 CD28, out on SF Bay for a spin with one of my best friends as crew. I want to be sworn and testify on this point: "retirement is highly under-rated"!. Next week the new 135% Genny may be ready at my sailmakers. Life, of course, is still hard at times....but I can't get any sympathy for my problems from anyone that knows me. I don't know how I ever merited all of this good fortune. Must have been a previous lifetime.

Great choice! When I bought KAYLA, she had a 145% but both sails were well stretched. Replaced the main first with full-battens & loose-foot. The next year we bought a new 135% and she balanced beautifully (and we have the trophies to prove it!).
As to the 3rd reef comment, there were a few times I wished we'd had one! Fortunately, our 2nd reef was fairly deep and the ProFurl robust enough that we could claw against the 30~35 knot winds and make it home safely, tired and wet, but it was an exhilarating sail.
John, she is a beautiful boat!!!
