Hi Bob,
I just visited the website. It has a 2010 copyright at the bottom, and pictures of products. However, if you click on them, you get this message:
"Product Invalid or Inactive."
This leads me to believe that they are, indeed, out of business.
RIP Ultimate Marine Products!

Caveat
We did our cabin sole with Ultimate Sole, and are generally very happy with it. But it is pretty slippery when wet. We did the companionway steps, and if I were doing it over, I would not do that. So far, I have caught myself each time, so no injuries yet. But if the boat is heeling and the steps and your boots are wet, be careful. Ken Textor told me to avoid such a product, because of the slipperiness. Maybe I should have heeded his advice. My basic take is that I like it for the sole, not for the ladder. I am considering re-doing the ladder.

Great on the sole
Hi Dean,
I put Ultimate Sole on my cabin sole, and it seems to be skid-free there, but the finish is too probably too hard for something like a ladder.
Fortunately, my 25D has such a small teak-and-holly sole that I'll probably be able to put one, and perhaps two more coats of Ultimate Sole on in the future. There are some scratches in the finish now, and if I have the time, I might put another coat on this spring.
Still, I'd go with Ken's advice on using it on ladders, etc.

Winter Project
I was thinking of refinishing the cabin sole on Mahalo this year. Since
Ultimate Sole is defunct and it looks like Cabothane is now only
available as a water based product I am searching for new ideas.
Maybe the Cabothane would be ok but... I've had less than wonderful
experiences with water based varnish so I am reluctant to try this.
Any ideas?

Cabot still has the oil-based polyurethane on their web site at:
http://www.cabotstain.com/products/prod ... thane.html
If that product is no longer available, they haven't removed it from their web site yet. But I think they still make it. Anyway, that web page has a "Find Products" section to help you find Cabot products locally if that's the product you want.
Lowes should have it. If Lowes doesn't have it in the store, they can order it for you or you can order it online. Or try Ace Hardware. Also, Lowes has oil-based Varathane High Solids Floor Finish. I haven't used it, but maybe someone else has and they can chime in.
Take a look at this Lenmar product:

Hope this helps,
Cathy
