Nautical Flea Market

Post by Jack & Jo Chamberlain »

Something new for this year's Chesapeake Fleet Groundhog Day: a nautical flea market. Here's your chance to unload all those nautical things you just had to have and no longer need. And maybe you'll find something you and your Cape Dory just can't sail without.

When: Saturday February 20th 12:00 - 1:30 pm
Where: Holiday Inn Select in Solomons, MD
What: Chesapeake Fleet Groundhog Day Extravaganza

For more details check our the Fleet Events page:

Hey, this is a great idea!

I think the Northeast Fleet might just swipe this idea. Have fun at your meeting!

The Rockport Yacht Club has hosted one for more years than I can remember. It cost $20 to rent a table for the two day affair. I get a number of friends together each year and we pile all the unused (clean out the garage) stuff out for everyone to pick through. We cleared over $2500 last year and gained a lot of room in the garage.

There is a required registration fee of $5.00 for CDSOA members, $ 10.00 for non-members, but no additional fee for tables at the flea market. The registration form is available on the Chesapeake Fleet Events page.
If you plan to bring large items or want information about your stuff advertised in advance, let me know.

Is it too late?

Post by Jay B. »

I just saw this event...haven't been on the board in a while. Is it too late to register? Jen and I would like to join the owners group and meet some folks that sail on the bay.

Last call for dinner reservations

Post by Jack & Jo Chamberlain »

I have to give the Holiday Inn the final count for dinner this Friday so this is the absolute final call for dinner reservations.

However, there is no deadline for anyone wanting to attend the flea market and afternoon sessions. You can still register at the door for the afternoon.

If you have sent in a reservation and do not get an email from me confirming your dinner choices, please contact me immediately. The weather has played havoc with mail delivery. I will send individual email confirmations as soon as I log off.

Watch for more information about flea market items and our guest speaker.

Why not?

Post by Jack & Jo Chamberlain »

Of course you might have to do it figuratively with info and photos. It might be difficult to fit her through the door.

Switlik Rescue Pod 4 Person Life Raft

Post by Jack & Jo Chamberlain »

Switlik Rescue Pod 4 Person Life Raft, never used, in a fabric valise 12"x24". 33 lbs.

This is a near shore life raft which would fit on smaller boats. It would need to be recertified.
