Does anyone have any insight as to who might be able to construct a trailer for a CD28 or CD30. I have trailered a Catalina 30 with a fin keel; a taller rig with greater beam and same weight as CD30, so I know what I'm in for. I just need to find someone with plans for a Cape Dory yacht trailer, and then find a builder. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Trailer for CD28 or CD30?

Re: Trailer for CD28 or CD30?
Last year I built a galvanized trailer for my CD27. It works very well. I constructed a mast raising system and can ramp launch. I would be happy to share all details and what I would do differently next time.Jeff Bredthauer wrote: Does anyone have any insight as to who might be able to construct a trailer for a CD28 or CD30. Triad trailers have specs for most CD's.Jeff Bredthauer wrote: Does anyone have any insight as to who might be able to construct a trailer for a CD28 or CD30. They're on the net and can give you a quote via e-mail.

Re: Trailer for CD28 or CD30?
I converted a gooseneck flatbed to a boat trailer for my CD-30, and it works fine. To have a trailer outfit do a custom conversion like this would probably run nearly as much as Triad quotes. I think that with this weight a gooseneck arrangement is safer and handles better. I couldn't get Triad, Robinhood, or any of the modelers to share hull drawings of the CD-30, so I had to wing it. If you decide you want to go this route, I can make a sketch of the relationship of the keel support to the various side stanchions for you to work from, and it probably would work for a 28 as well. I would dearly love to have line drawings for my boat anyway, but the people who have them seem to think the info is private.Jeff Bredthauer wrote: Does anyone have any insight as to who might be able to construct a trailer for a CD28 or CD30. I tried responding to your CD trailer question at your e-mail address but it was bounced back.
I found Triad trailers through the web address at "www.trailersailor.com"
