Noted this reasonably-priced CD28 while browsing the listings today. Had not seen it on this board as yet.
Seems like a bargain at $12,000. Although it is nearby, I have never seen the boat on the bay, nor do I know anything about it.

Recore is far better than repower in my mind.
Luckily (for my husband) I am not anywhere near Maine. Recoring the deck is very straightforward although a bit tedious. As long as you have a dry place to work and access to power, it is very satisfying and requires minimal skill. You do, however need time and patience. If the upper skin is in good shape, it would make it even easier. The deck does have to be painted however.
I assumed that the boat needed to be repowered (and it may stilll) which is big bucks -- and a lot of labor on top of that.
If I was buying a boat at a bargain price, I would personally be fare more enthusiastic about a major recore project than repower.
Of course, in both cases, I would be considering it a DIY project.
Since it's finally a beautiful day here (60's instead of 20's), I guess I should be outside working on my own boat instead of daydreaming about other people's projects!
