Received several replys on the subject of yanmar8
no one said what length the hose needs to be to reach the bottom of the pan or sump l please confirm that the hose is connected to the dipstick opening!!!! That thing is 1/4 max!!! I also have been told to look for an opening on the side of the engine....I didnt think it would be that complicated
Love the 27 been out 6 times in last 15 days.....stayed in the harbor when the winds were 30+ Jay some j-22s were out and what a mess...

You slide the tube into the dipstick hole. You're right ... that's a small tube. That's part od the reason the oil must be warm to flow. Having said that, I can usually pump some additional oil out by fishing the tube arounf through the fill hole even after I get all I can through the dipstick hole.

30 knot winds
Your CD27 can handle the 30 knot winds. Reef her way down and you'll be amazed at how much fun it can be out sailing in those conditions. It's hell when you don't reef correctly but beautiful when you do.

Sailing, yes... but trying to land the boat in my slip in those conditions is a bit *less* fun. <G>
