CD 28 Power Cockpit Drainage

Post by Paul Anastassiadis »

I have a 1986 28 CD Power cruiser. When it rains the water accumulates
by the door and the steps of the cockpit. Does anyone know a method to drain the cockpit?
Thanks PA

We also had/have that problem. The previous owner installed a dock box in the stern right up against the transom. He had to cut the inside of the lip over the dock box for it to fit under. The dock box houses the propane tank, dock lines and JUNK. It is about 48" long mounted to some teak runners to slide on and held in place with locker type hasps to the deck. The water drains very well on HUNKY DORY now. If you want detailed info let me know.

Paul:
There should be port & starboard drain holes all the way aft in the cockpit floor. They connect to a drain fitting just above the waterline in the middle of the transom. You might check to see that these lines are clear.
