cockpit cushion source for CD27 in NE?

Post by Yves Feder W1UX »

Can anyone with a CD27 offer a suggestion for a New England (CT, RI, MA....)source for good cockpit cushions? Some outfit that might already have the measurements for a CD27 cockpit?

Thanks for any help!

Don't know if they have measurements, but Poor Mann's Custom Sewing in East Weymouth, MA has done good work for me at good prices. They were reccommended by a trusted sailmaker. You can call Tracy Mann at 800 816 8552.

Yves:

I've seen work done by CC Interiors in Bristol (401-253-0320) and if they don't have measurements for the CD27, you can have them go out in the yard (they are at Bristol Marine) and measure Remedy.

You may want to try Custom Marine Canvas at Spicer's marina, Noank, CT. Katie (owner) did our interior cushions and did a great job. She even measured for them in the boat 1st as well as use our old ones as a template.

Good luck

On the last two Cape Dory's I have owned I used closed cell foam cockpit cushions. They are pretty tough to damage, will not absorb water and won't fade. I had them for 6 years on one and 8 years on the other, sold them with both boats and they were still in great shape.I got them from C Cushions Inc. They have all Cape Dory patterns as well as other boats. You can check them out on line at www.ccushions.com. In my opinion they are well worth the money.I will be buying them for my CD 30 this summer.
