Michael,
What is that colorful sail called? It looks flatter than some of the aspins I've seen, so I'm guessing it's more of a reacher or drifter.

Cathy,
That's your Flasher, right?
Yep, that's our UK Flasher. Here's what it looks like from just about every angle. Click on any image for an enlargement.

A pretty Typhoon...

Post by Cathy Monaghan »

Thought you might enjoy these photos. This is one of the prettiest, and shiniest, Tys I've ever seen. Bruce snapped these pics in the Spring of 2008 at the boatyard where we keep our boat. We never met, or even saw, Puddleby's owner, which is pretty amazing considering how much time we spend at the boatyard.

<a href="http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c349/ ... 123917.jpg" target="_blank"><img width="600" src="http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c349/ ... 7.jpg"></a>

That's our CD32 in the TraveLift on the left.

And Realization in the TraveLift.

She's a beauty

Post by Steve Laume »

What a beautiful Typhoon!

I don't know as I could say the name three times fast.

Did you get any idea weather they had polished up the gel coat or the shiny finish was paint?

Either way that is one good looking Ty, Steve.

Flasher

Post by Troy Scott »

Thanks, Cathy!

I love how the Flasher is so full up high...., like a regular symmetrical spinnaker. None of the other aspins I've seen have this feature. I suspect that the Flasher is at it's best on a really broad reach. I also suspect that the owner of one of these will also want a much flatter "Drifter" type headsail for close reaching in very light air. Am I correct in thinking that the Flasher might not be at it's best in that situation?

I'm looking forward to the annual meeting!

The fourth photo had me doing a momentary double-take. I wasn't aware of any CD32 Yawls.....

Me neither.

They are all either sloops or cutters.

Realization, in the TraveLift, isn't rigged at all. But, you can see the rigging of the boats in the background on "A" dock.

no CD32 yawls....

Post by Troy Scott »

Cathy,

It was just a silly joke that apparently didn't go over well. In your fourth photo, the mast of the boat behind yours is lined up so that, at a glance, your boat looks like a yawl. Of course a second look easily confirms that it's part of a second boat.

Nope...

Post by Cathy Monaghan »

Nope, I can't.

And I can't believe that only 4 or 5 of us have snapped any sailing photos and are willing to share them. C'mon gang let's see your photos. It's not that difficult to include them in your posts. Just upload your digital photos to an online photo service (like Photobucket.com), share them, and include them here. (You can make your practice posts in the 'Sandbox'.)

Let's see 2 or 3 of them at a time.

Although not a CD, it is close.
Probably the last sail this weekend. It has been a good summer, could have been better. The 5 year old is great, Next summer his brother will be 3 and be able to move around much better. They love sleeping on the boat.

Hard to get a good action shot. I really want a picture of the boat flying the new Asym.
