Well your dog sounds like mine (Teddy). I call him my sous chef. He is always underfoot waiting to taste breakfast, lunch or dinner. He will climb into the dishwasher to make sure I didn't leave anything on the plates and will drink "anything" left in a cup, wine glass or mug. He is a very high energy dog and after some adjustment we are certain he will be a good sailor. Schipperke's were bred to be ratters on barges and that is how we justify buying the boat lol. He sheds like crazy and is an amazing watch dog.

Looking forward to meeting some of you on the east coast next cruising season.

Hello Skip Sutcliffe:

For only the second time in my life I have fallen head over heals in love. Your puppy is beautiful.

As the "other dog whisperer", I am confident in stating that your puppy is thinking "Hmm, is that some weather to windward I need to tell my skipper about or should I just wait for the fun to happen." :D
Fair winds,

Robert

This is an "old" picture (my Dad & I look much younger than now...) and not on a Cape Dory, but "Rusty" was enjoying the helm on Lake Michigan.

Rusty is saying:

"Great, the kid won't go forward to handle a sail change and the old man's already into the sauce at 1000 hours. Good thing this boat is easy to single hand. Now where the hell is that clanging buoy I keep hearing?

Great pictures all :!: :!: :!: :!:

Here's a photo of the late Dick Feffer bring his pup Holly over to my boat during a NE Fleet event in Oyster Bay some years back. I'm sure Cathy, Bruce and Michael Heintz remember as fondly as I do.

Here's my current crew, Rudy.

This pic was taken while we were at anchor in the North Channel (Lake Huron). I was probably getting ready for a trip ashore and he was waiting, sitting atop the ice chest:

Here he is on a cockpit seat:

And here he is stretching his legs on an island:
