As a new Typhoon owner, I'm trying to get used to being aware of water depth (it didn't matter with my old centerboarder!). My chart of the Sturgeon Bay, WI area states that all depths are based on mean low water and gives the depth at a certain point on a certain date as the reference. Can anyone tell me where to find the current depth so I know how much to adjust the chart depths by?

Lake Michigan water level

Re: Lake Michigan water level
Sure, maybe I can help here. The Coast Guard monitors levels, as does the Corps of Engineers and probably the water district of your county. All of these sources have current measuremetns for you. That isn't convenient? Welllll...there is a site on the Web that has all of the Great lakes water levels listed. http://superior.eng.ohio-state.edu/nowc ... s/all.html
Just click on "All", and look for water depths.

Hey, this summer, he'll be glad it only draws that much!
I read an interesting article in today's Washington Post. The accompanying picture says it all.

Pick a Lake, any Lake....
http://huron.lre.usace.army.mil/hmpghh.html ought to have what you need via the web. If I'm not mistaken doesn't NOAA weather radio also broadcast it, or am I dreaming?
