polished bronze

So I bought my new Cape Dory and not until 3 weeks later do I notice that my Bronze opening ports are of the polished variety, not the burnished variety as on my old cape dory. What have folks used succesfully to (yes) polish them?

So I bought my new Cape Dory and not until 3 weeks later do I ...

While cleaning my teak with 2 part cleaner (can't remember the name but it's the kind with a weak acid in the first part) I let some slop on to my bronze cleats. The effect was quite pleasent, a nice clean, burnished look. It worked quite quickly and required no rubbing at all.
