CD 25 Transom Width

Hi,

As I posted earlier, I'm going to have the name redone on Allia. It will Read:

Allia
Manchester

What I need it the appropriate width for the name (how wide should the name and port lettering be)?

Anthing to do with the graphic arts is so subjective
and a matter of personal taste but here is what I would do.

Try printing out "Allia" and "MANCHESTER" from a word
processor in various fonts and sizes and lay them on
a scale drawing of the transom.

The name "Allia" is so short that the main question is not
width but hight. You will need some space say 2 inches above
the names, two inches between them and four below.
"MANCHESTER" can be 2 inches high. The rest of the vertical
space would be for "Allia". If the name "Allia" looks too
small reduce the vertical spaces a bit.

The font reflects your personality! However start with
something simple such as Times Roman.

Technically the lettering should be 4" in height to comply with CG regs. So based on that, set the width/spacing accordingly.
