Hi all,
Here's wishing everyone a happy first day of summer. There is a great boating season ahead for all. The northern species of sailor refuses to dwell on what he endured during the previous winter months. Visions of enjoyable sailing in the near future sustained him through the bleak winter season.
The not so great news is that starting today, the days will become shorter and shorter, culminating with the end of daylight saving time.
So get out there, get sailing. No excuses, no stalling. We will have plenty of time later on to fret about the bright work and other things that can divert our attention from doing what we enjoy so much.
Just do it.
O J

Here here OJ
As the daylight stretches to almost 10 PM here and returns with first bird at 4 AM. I am acutely aware that we are now on the down-wind leg of the sailing season.
When I was younger, I always thought, "Endless Summer". Now it seems to be "Endless Winter". I am not sure why that is but it is.
Thanks for the kick in the butt OJ. I will endeavor to get out and enjoy.

Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it-but sail we must, and not drift, nor lie at anchor

O.J. thanks for the heads up. With all the rain we have been having in New England this summer doesn't seem like a great time to be out on the water.
The summer sailing season is always enjoyable but why stop when it's over. I thought that is why there was salt in the water around here. So it doesn't get all hard in the winter and keep you from sailing, Steve.
