CD 25 interior
Can anyone help. I've googled a few times and not got a lot of info.
Can anyone help with interior pictures of a CD25?
I've found 79 CD25 at a VERY reasonable price ( ahve not seen the interior yet) but the LAST reasonable boat I looked at had the interior gutted and had no idea where to start. THE CD looks very solid, and if the interior is not too bad and it passes the survey, I'm ready to make an offer...

Take a look in the Buy/sell CD boats and gear section.
There's a CD25 listed for sale in Vermont. Pictures are at

cushion thickness?
Henry,
Beautiful job with Homeward Bound. I'm just curious about the thickness of the cushions in the vee berth. They look pretty thick in the photo.
SQN needs new cushions and the cushions I have are 4". I'd like to make them thicker and more comfortable to sleep on. 4" just ain't doin' anymore for these old bones.

Cushions
Good Eye Warren,
Yep. . 5 inches -- graded.
I bought 3 types of foam and stuck it together with 3M foam adhesive.
2 inches of firm, 2 inches of medium, one inch of soft.
They were pretty comfortable, and easy to do. You can cut the foam with an electric knife (thank you Don Casey).
Maybe I'll seeya out there today. I'm out with Carter today.

Hi Steve;
I'm currently restoring a CD25. It may be helpful for you to see the interior stripped, so you know what's under all that beautiful work Henry did on Homeward Bound.
For what it's worth, here are some photos:

Interior work
Thanks everyone.
Had a friend out to take a loook and the CD35 passed inspection. Needs work, but really notning too major. A GOOD interior cleanup, and all the exterior wood needs refilished. (son is a hobbiest woodworker and he said go) Not set up for single handing, so thats going to be a change, and to add roller furling.
Still has the original winches, so 2 speed self tailing are in order.
Hopefully it will be in the water this week and the we can do a sialing trial and check everything under sail. If it passes sea trial as it were, Zephyr will have a new owner( and the wife says a new name......SERENITY)

CD25 Interior
Attached is a photo of my CD25 interior. It is a different interior from most because its more of a Herreshoff style. If you have a lot of interior work to do this could be a good option if you like the style. The prior owner used white/offwhite contact paper to cover the old wood veneer builkheads and counters. Also, he painted the blue interior white. I think it makes a very nice and bright updated looking interior. The contact paper has held up very well from when it was originally applied in 2002.

I hope the boat works out for you! They are great boats!
Also, you may find you dont need self tailing winches. I still use the original winches and never even need the handles. Just wrap the sheet and pull. Very easy.
