Yup boat is in the water and ready to go. We motored because of tides and a time constraint from our launch site last weekend, haven't actually sailed yet.

I did notice that the percentage of CD's compared to other boats currently in the water at Falmouth ME is very high. I counted 5 CD's and one Robinhood today in a very empty mooring field.

Launching tomorrow!!!

Post by Mike Raehl »

On Thursday, we will make the Chicago River trip and lock passage, then motor to the harbor. Mast stepping on Saturday and then the season officially begins! I did cheat the season a little by crewing on a Catalina 25 last Sunday, 30 miles from Waukegan to Chicago Monroe Harbor.

And one of them is ours. And another one used to be ours (now Dennis and Susan Ryan's). And one is Dave and Carol Bradbury's.

And... Rich, was it Len Kovit's Robinhood?

We have a nice scrum of Cape Dorys in the Handy Boat mooring field.

Quest was launched Monday in Rockport, ME. I'm flying up this afternoon from Philly. I'm real anxious to see how she runs after the winter repower. If everything is good I'll be bringing her down to Boothbay Harbor over the weekend.

Yes Minke and one other CD, a Typhoon that I wasn't close enough to identify.

In the water since the first week in April. I've had several outstanding day sails and last weekend did an overnight to Scituate. That, plus several sleepovers and countless naps on board. Oh, drinks on board with friends, too.

Not yet:

I still have to put two more coats of Ultimate Sole on the cabin sole, and one coat of Cetol Gloss to put on the exterior brightwork.

Then there's those new lifelines to install.

Neil:

Back in April, I was meeting with a colleague from Annapolis when he looked up and said, "Hey, I think I just saw a CD28 go by." (Boats being hauled to the launching area go right past the office window.)
"Must be 'Liquidity'," I opined.
Guess I was right!
Maybe I'll catch you at Marina Bay some time soon. (I'll bring the single malt this time.)

KAYLA has not been out of the water since her last bottom job in March 2008. Tranquil, however, is still on the hard in Demopolis AL - where she's been out of the water for over 3 1/2 years! She is scheduled for splashing this Friday and we'll begin our down river run to Mobile and across the ICW to Niceville FL! Yes, we do love living & sailing in the south... :D :D :D
