Re: VORG Update
Looks like 6 CD's now (1-2 non-group members, perhaps). In the spirit of full disclosure, I would also point out we're in some of the wimpiest most-anemic air that could still be called 'wind'--so we'll probably be here for a whileJohn Martin wrote:Ten boats in Team Cape Dory Fleet. To unpathed waters, undreamed shores.

It still a long way to Rio
Nick,
I have lost 25000 and regained 7000 spots in the last 24 hours, and am working hard not to take my failures of judgement, foresight and awakening too hard. While those boats north and east of us look like winners now, strange things can happen on the virtual seas.
Best,
Roy
P.S. On the other hand, I expect to be HEADING north and east at the next wind shift, so I might as well forget all that "happy days are here again stuff"......

It is, indeed, a LONGGG leg: there's still room for lots of maneuvering! Although maybe not in my current area

new route
Hi Nick,
Got tired of the light air, I want to go south anyway, get to NZ and turn left. We will see if this works.

Volvo Ocean Racer's
We went up to the boat last Thursday for 4 days, I lost about 30,000 places. Now I'm gaining them back. Thursday or Friday we will head to the boat again for the W/E. Back and forth and back and forth. Just point the boat in a direction and hope for the best.
New head sail for the big boat coming, TODAY, yea! I hope to try it out this Saturday or Sunday. Maybe the rain will hold off.

I would so prefer.....
I would so prefer actually sailing Auburn to fretting over however many places I have gained or lost in the VORG. Oh well -- its the screen life for me for another 2 months.......

Roy, where are you? Thought it was South Africa but see the SA flag is different.

You are doing GREAT in the VORG. Leading Team Cape Dory. Do
you think you can make a move on the leaders? Just think a Typhoon crossing the Pacific? (just a dream)

Dull old Boston
Nick,
Even though I travel fairly extensively for work, I am based in dull, old, wintry Marblehead. I chose to race under the flag of the Seychelles because virtual yacht racing and fantasy home ports are closely related. The metaphysics match. I like the flag too.
