CD 25 ports and wood trim

I saw on here a week or so ago somebody suggesting that they may put teak trim around their plastic portholes (like the ones on my '78 CD 25). Has anyone tried this? Or maybe some other solution to the not-so-attractive arrangement we have now? I consider the port lights to be the biggest single weakness with my lovely boat and would love some ideas for improving this cosmetic problem/

Eric, that was from my post. I'am going to have the local bright work man advise me on this matter this weekend. But anything is better than that white plastic.
