Windspeed Indicator

Post by jim »

I have a CD25D #99 and am thinking of installing a masthead wind speed/direction indicator system. Any suggestions on brand, reliability, problems etc. I have Standard Series 65 Knot and Depth instruments and may go with their product unless someone knows better. Also, any suggestions for snaking the wire down the mast, through the cabin top and to the instrument panel at the back of the boat.
thanks

I know what I would do.......I'd use Standard's wind instrument (good dependable instruments) and I'd use a "Dri-Plug" at the deck for the conversion from mast wiring to through deck wiring. The "Dri-Plugs" are excellent products. I think they are still available from Boat U.S., Defender and perhaps West. I've used many over the years on many boats without any problems.
