Hello and Happy Holidays:
Since it is rather cold in most parts of the U.S. and Canada right now I thought I would pass along a link to our blog. Some might find it interesting while thinking about summer activities.
This past summer we took a four month cruise on our "new to us" Cape Dory 36 from Solomons, Maryland (on the Chesapeake Bay) to the north end of Maine (Cutler) and back.
We attempted to keep a daily blog so that family and friends back home would get an idea of what we were experiencing. For that reason we included many (too many) photos of things we saw and experienced along the way. For those of you new to blogs: they are presented in reverse order (the latest entry is first); you can click on any photos of interest to enlarge them and then just go "back" to the blog.

In closing I would like to thank everyone who helped make the trip a success. That includes this organization and many of the folks who are active on this board.
Best wishes, Philip & Sharon

Nice write up
Totally enjoyed your description. New England is our preferred long distance cruising ground. Well done.

Reflections On The Summer Of 2008
Hello everyone:
This past summer (2008) we sailed our Cape Dory 36 ("Evergreen") up and then down the east coast, from the Chesapeake to as far north as Baddeck, Nova Scotia, which is on the Bras D'Or Lakes. We did this over a 3.5 month period.
For those of you who are interested in learning about such experiences our blog is finally up to date. You may access it via the link below. Feel free to contact us if you have any specific questions.
Please note: The blog is published in reverse order (the most recent entries are first). Also, you may click on any of the photos to enlarge them.
Next year we plan to spend the summer sailing, exploring, and hiking the entire coast of Maine. Hopefully, we will see some of you out there.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make our 2008 trip a success!!!
