I purchased our CD330 last spring and during survey it was noted that there was some play in the rudder shaft at the shaft tube entering the hull. It took a while to isolate but there is a pronounced 'thump' when turning the wheel back and forth. I can visibly see as much as 1/8" of play in the shaft above the stuffing box.
My first question is, has anyone else had similar trouble and if so what action was taken?
I've been through the owners manual and looked at the rudder cross-section, but cannot tell if there is a cutlass bearingor not. Can anyone say for sure?
Any suggestion for how to repair would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards

Check with West Systems. they have a process that uses epoxy to take up the slack. hope they can help.Duane Yoslov wrote: I purchased our CD330 last spring and during survey it was noted that there was some play in the rudder shaft at the shaft tube entering the hull.
