My 1975 Cape Dory 25' has a busted gooseneck. A tang which the clew
sets into broke off. It is a cast metal (alum?) and surprizingly so it has lasted 22 years. Luckly for me it broke when I was stripping the sail for the season, I was happy to have been able to sail during November, and this was the last sail of the season. Any idea where a replacement can be found.
Thanks;

Kim at Rig-Rite can probably help you. Rig-Rite now owns Spartan Spars, which were the original CD spars. They can be reached at 401-739-1140.

Paul, I had the same thing happen on a daysailer I used to own. I took it to a metal shop and the owner fashioned a replacement aluminum mirror image of the opposite side, It was a masterpieceof work. I would have never guessed he could have done it. Providing you have the opposite side intact, I'm sure any reputable machinist can do the same for you.
If it's not possible to fix, Robinhood Marine has an inventory of Cape Dory parts. You might contact Andy Vavolotis there and ask him if he has the part.
