Hey Maineah's!

Hi guys, Now that most of us have our boats in the water hopefully you can start thinking of plans for the weekend after this coming weekend. Weather is beautiful this time of year, good sailing, long nights. Please think of joining us at Snow Island. We have 3 boats so far but a number of "informal" attendees have expressed an interest. Please let me know so we can do some food and beverage planning :-)

In Maine, isn't June sailing considered frostbiting????

Where to gather for pot-luck

Post by Dean Abramson »

Right now, it's about 50/50 whether Loda May will be able to make the trip to the Float-In. We are still on the hard. That's another story...

But in any event, since we might be guests on another boat, I wanted to suggest that we have the get-together, picnic-style, on Little Snow Island. It's a pretty little island right there to the west of our anchorage and it's part of the Maine Island Trail Association, of which we are members. It is publicly owned. We are suggesting that participants would bring blankets or tarps to sit on.

I would be interested in hearing from others on this idea.

Dean that sounds fine, Nemo is very familiar with that island :-)
Depends on how many show up. And if there's anyone camping on it.

Sounds good. Pilgrim will be there and will be ready to party. We may or may not have guests along with us who may or may not try to camp on one of the islands. At any rate, we will be ready to picnic. We might bring BBQ fixins and some delicious blueberry crisp.

Good Point

Melissa is right. If there are already folks camping on the island, we probably should not invade with our landing craft.

Thanks again Nemo, Rich and Melissa for letting us all aboard! Glad to see you made it back alright. We only hit a little rain near Reed State Park, no high winds and no thunderstorm.

Some Pix

Post by Dean Abramson »

A little bit (okay, a lot) of cold damp weather could not dampen the spirits of the CDers (and one Brand X crew) who had an excellent time at the Float In.

Some photos can be found at:

Thanks to everyone for coming!

We skirted a strong thunderstorm on the way back, but actually its wind blew away the fog at a convenient moment for the Loda May and her crew.
