Down East
Mike,
I don't know when you will be coming through the Long Island Sound, but I am planning on leaving July 4th from Westbrook, CT heading up to Maine.... If your in the area we might hook up for part of the sail.
Regards

Sure hoping
Yup, we are still headed for Greenland.
First we have to get to Maine this summer and stage for next spring.
Thanks to a great crew coming onboard, I'm confident we will make our port calls this season and make Greenland a reality.
Now if I can just remember where I put the chart

Lavida underway
After a slight delay, Ed Haley and I motored from Olcott to Oswego, NY last week where we picked up Oswego John.
Our merry band then proceeded to transit the Oswego and Erie canals in four days of wonderful sights and long hours of motoring . A wonderful time was had by all, despite some periods of awesome nasty weather.
(Watch for more details in upcoming Masthead issues).
LaVida is currently lying at Liberty Landing Marina across from Manhattan. Spectacular view.
We will be entering Long Island Sound mid-week and looking forward to picking up other CDSOA members as crew.
We are also hoping to anchor with the fleet in Oyster Bay for the 4th, then on to Maine.
If your along the way we'd really enjoy hooking up with you. Please PM me.
Sea U,
Rit

Hello
Hi Mike, Glad to hear all so going well. Went sailing with Hal last night and he asked about you and sends along his regards. willow is staying close to home this summer but will do a fall color sail up in the North Channel when the boys are back in school. I'm glad to hear Greenland is still in your future. Take care and enjoy, Paul

Red Brook, Ptown and now in S. Freeport Maine
We had a wonderful time meeting the sailors and families from the NE Fleet in Red Brook. Thank you one and all for the wonderful welcome and the ability to place faces with our electronic friends after so many years.
We had a fog bound transit of the Cape Cod Canal and into Province Town where three days of high winds and three foot seas on the moorings made for a soggy visit, however it is a memborable port call
After a no wind crossing of the Gulf of Maine, we've arrived in Maine.
A huge fog bank greeted us five minutes after sighting the Portland Head light!
Welcome to Maine and its five million lobster pots!
