Hi all,
The elbow-shaped vents that stick out of the rear lazarette where the outboard lives are dirty and crumbling on 'Allia'. I went to West Marine and tried to find new ones, but had no luck with the correct style. Mine are "female" where the opening slides over a male piece mounted on top of the hatch. The new ones at West are all males.
Any ideas where to get proper vents? The opening is 3.5 inches in diameter.

Eric,
I think what you see sticking out of the deck is actually part of the broken vent. When the flexible rubber lets go, that's what it will look like. Undo the screws holding the deckplate to the deck, remove it, and look at it upside down. I think yuo'll see either a retainer bar across the opening, or just one ring inside another. Not to worry though, a new deck plate, retainer, and elbow vent is included with the new vent. Replace everything...good luck...
