Kerosene Galley Stoves

Does anyone out there have any experience with a Taylor kerosene galley stove? I want to update from alcohol and do not want to use LPG.

I was looking at Tayolr in Defender and they look like a quality stove, but I need to know if they display the typical kerosene problems. Such as sooting and smelling up the immediate area.

I had an Origa pressurized kerosene stove on my old folkboat and found it vastly hotter than alcohol - so hot, in fact, that I couldn't keep the coffee warm -- it would only boil. The only trouble I had with it was that I didn't bleed the pressure from the tank after the first time I used it and woke up to a very bad smelling cabin. The kerosene must have found some tiny leaks and vaporized into the air. After learning to bleed the tank the thing gave me many years of reliable service.
