I've got an '87 CD 28 Open Fisherman
with a 275hp Chrysler V8, and I'm having
trouble finding replacement points and
condensor. Does anyone have updated parts
numbers for them?
Thanks,
Alex

Alternative? Electronic ignition conversion?
Have you considered conversion to electronic ignition? I did this on an old Oliver tractor using a Pertronix kit and it was one of the best improvements I ever made. It starts easy and runs better. I suspect you will see better gas milage also. Below are two sources:

Thanks Rich, I'm in the auto restoration business, and I had
considered a Petronix, but was concerned about it failing at sea.
You can almost always get a set of conventional points to work,
but once an electronic part fails, it's done. I'd feel a little better
knowingI had a spare set of points, and condensor. Maybe the solution would be to have both types on board.

Having had the dubious distinction of some "hot rodding" many years back I'm curious about which engine block family the 275hp motor is from. Though not up on the later motors I believe the choices are 273/318, 340/360, 383/400, or 413/426(wedge)/440 . I still know of a 383/400 or two that are running around near me and would ask if that's what you have.
Send me a pm if interested ( I suspect you have a 340/360 cid block ) .
Good Luck
