Are you ready?

Post by Joe Myerson »

Melissa,

Are you and Rich ready for tonight/tomorrow's storm?

(Seriously, we've got friends in Effingham who told us this year has been even snowier than 1969, when the last record was set.)

But spring is on its way . . .

In the Portland area, the Dec-Jan-Feb snow total was the fifth most since they have kept records, which goes back at least to the mid 1800s, I think.

They are talking 10-14 inches tonight. My understanding is that if this storm had come a day earlier, it would have broken the all-time Dec-Jan-Feb record. I guess while I am shoveling, I will take comfort in the fact that it is March. Folks, this winter is friggin interminable.

I would LOVE to be sailing on Mobile Bay!

Unending winter...

Over in NH I can stand on the snow and touch my roof without jumping, and the snow is up to the boat's waterline and she's up on blocks... when's it gonna end? Not tonight, that's for sure.

Was only kidding

Sorry Mark,

I should have put some sort of smiley on my last post. Was just kidding--and being a bit jealous. Hope Anna and the grandchild get better soon.

Mahalo, unfortunately, is in our backyard at the end of the driveway. The only place our plow guy has to put all the snow from our driveway is.....right in front of Mahalo. At the beginning of winter it didn't seem like a big deal. Now, I'm concerned it's not going to be gone by launch day in May! It is one huge p.o.s.

We're about a quarter of a mile from Winnipesaukee and this is our driveway. We can sympathize with you! Launch date is 55 days away!!

Here is the door we use to get into our house. To the right of the door are two windows, completely covered now.

Ahhhh, A standing seam roof.

All slides off. I love mine. Now there is an 8' tall mound in front of the entire house and around 'Setting Star'.
