Bristol Bronze - custom replacement ports for Typhoon

Bristol Bronze - custom replacement ports for Typhoon
Continuing my quest for a replacement portlight for my Typhoon, Roger Winiarsky of Bristol Bronze has offered to make a custom bronze casting. Apparently, the patterns for a non-opening portlight are not difficult, but the price will depend on the number required.
If anybody else is interested in a quality drop-in replacement for the plastic ports fitted to the Typhoon, please contact Roger at rogerw@meganet.net.
He has also been asked by a CD25 owner to make a bronze Cape Dory builder's plate, and would like to know if any others would be interested in this part.
Regards,
Richard.

Richard:
I picked up off of the goodoldboats.com site a review of the Typhoon by Paul Danicic (nyeme001@tc.umn.edu) where he mentioned replacing his ports with bronze ports from ABI, Inc. No address or price was given but this might be another source for finding the ports.

Re: ABI ports
The ABI ports are opening ones, available from JSI at $117.69 each. I'm looking at some non-opening ports (one piece casting instead of three) which will hopefully come in a lot cheaper, even in small quantities.

Re: Bristol Bronze - custom replacement ports for Typhoon
Richard,
For anyone wishing to replace their portlights on a typhoon the ABI ones I bought were the 4" "Bronze Deadlight" in their catalog. The outside diameter is 5 1/2" and the price was about $40 each. This was the most worthwhile upgrade, regarding appearance of the boat, I made. The opening portlights by ABI start with an outside diameter of 7", too big for our wonderful little cabinhouse in my opinion. ABI can be reached at: Marine Mail Order (707) 579-5709.
Sincerely,
Paul Danicic
