Low Dollar Model

Post by CruiseAlong »

If you are looking for a very low dollar, good working handheld, consider the Magellan 3000xl...the "XL" part is important. It is a marine version of a couple of years ago but has strong reception and is very durable. You can pick these up from $12-$25 on Ebay.
Batteries are AA, lasts about 17 hours......

Don't buy Magellan

Post by Kurt »

I've owned two Magellans and two Garmin. Both Magellans bit the dust withing 2 years of purchase. Don't buy Magellan. The Garmins are much more reliable. I own two bottom of the line eTrex models. They are simple, use just two AA batteries each and get me anywhere I want to go. I carry two on board for redundancy.
